Social Media Assistant & Digital Media Manager

I worked at HowlRound Theatre Commons for nearly two years, and it was an incredible learning experience. I started as a Social Media Assistant before being promoted to Digital Media Manager in January 2021. With this promotion, I helped the Communications Manager build out the department, hiring two other students as the Social Media Assistant and Publishing Assistant, respectively.

Logos/Iconography

When I began working at HowlRound, I knew I wanted to establish a visual vocabulary for our followers. I wanted people to be able to tell whether a post was about an Essay, Podcast, or Livestream with a simple glance. I’m proud that the logos and templates I made during my tenure are still being used today. Please scroll through the slideshow above to see some logos I made with descriptions of what they were used for.

Theatre in Columbia Series

Sometimes at HowlRound, one series would have exceptionally high-quality images. In that case, my boss would ask me to make a more unique and dedicated campaign. This series featuring Columbian Theatremakers (written in both Spanish and English) became Facebook and Instagram posts that were given a robust ad spend budget. I love getting growth organically, but there is something special about your employer dedicating funding to allow your graphics to be seen by as many people as possible. I was given more opportunities like this one throughout my tenure, but this was my first major campaign.
